Peartree Care Home
Peartree Care Home is a purpose built, 70 bed Care Home with a comfortable, homely atmosphere, situated in Sydenham, which is a diverse and multi-cultural neighbourhood. We maintain close links with the local community for the benefit of all our residents.
We are proud of our well-earned reputation for a homely and comfortable atmosphere. Peartree is within walking distance of all local amenities. Residents, relatives and staff enjoy our beautiful garden.
The home has been awarded Beacon Status, the highest possible award given by the Gold Standard Framework for end of life care in care homes ( GSF). One of very few thus accredited nationally. This level of expertise means that people can stay in the home and receive the very best care until the end of their lives.
Our strengths lie in our philosophy of care. We take pride in our high quality home-from-home environment, which meets the individual needs of each person. Our care service is holistic and person-centred. All our staff keep up to date with regular training courses inside and outside the home to ensure that we continue to deliver excellent quality care to our residents. We offer completely personalised, computerised care plans for every resident.

Peartree is a purpose built 70 beds Care Home arranged over four floors, which provides permanent care in a residential setting for 38 people with dementia and 32 for people requiring residential/nursing care. All areas of the home are accessible to wheelchair users.

At Peartree, we are always looking for ways to improve the quality of our care and have recently started the Namaste Programme. This gentle, relaxing and rewarding programme aims to stimulate the senses using techniques such as massage, and loving touch, whilst carrying out personal care.
Our spacious garden has a water fountain, which helps to create a tranquil mood. Carefully planted and beautifully maintained on a weekly basis, our garden reflects seasonal changes. This is where we host parties and gatherings including:
- Dedicated physiotherapy room with in-house physiotherapist
- Lovely tea-room on the ground floor with fresh home baked cakes, sandwiches and pastries, tea and coffee served to residents and relatives
- Hair Salon
- Each floor has its own lounge with a large flat screen television and music system
- Comfortably spaced dining rooms on each floor
- Dining rooms and Kitchenette equipped with microwave, fridge and urn on each floor.
- Sensory room which offers nail-spa sessions and massage

Aditee Naik has worked with Excelcare since 2010 and controls all the non-clinical aspects of the management of the home. She works closely with our Maintenance Team, Kitchen and Housekeeping staff. Aditee has prior experience of management in Child Development and Banking and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
Catherine Ogbogu-Sang is a dual qualified nurse with a wealth of clinical experience including in mental health and specialist Dementia care. Catherine has over 20 years’ experience as a nurse of which 10 years is in clinical management and governance.

Each floor at Peartree has its own qualified Team Leader with a dedicated team of carers and senior carers. We also have a full time Chef and Housekeeper to take care of staff and residents’ needs. Our full-time Activities Coordinator, Marva Wilson has enjoyed working in the activities division inside nursing homes for over 12 years.
At Peartree, our Activity Coordinator supports and inspires people living in the Home with daily activities, entertainment and lively social engagement programs. We are lucky that friends and relatives of people living in the Home contribute to our activities and fundraising events and we encourage everyone to get involved.

At Peartree we provide a high standard of Palliative care for the people living in the Home.We ensure that a person’s wishes/choice to remain in Peartree during their final days of life are honoured and that they receive a gold standard of care which integrates their physical, emotional, spiritual and psychological needs with compassion and dignity in comfortable and familiar surroundings.
We actively involve their family and friends and other professionals to achieve well-planned and coordinated care during a person’s final days of life.
