For many years I have also worked in the Hospitality Industry which I found I enjoyed having grown up with a local Pub as home, and working in the towns football club. I am a people person which I think helps me working in the Day Centre in the job which I enjoy doing.

My qualifications include N.V.Q. 2 & 3. NCFE Level 2 safe handling of Medicines . NCFE Level 2 Team Leading.

The Saffron Centre is open Monday to Friday 9am – 5 pm.

At the Centre we promote Mental Stimulation and Social Interaction, The Hairdresser comes in once a week and the Chiropodies and Therapy Ladies come in every 6 weeks. We have Entertainers come in a few times a months to give us a sing song. At the Centre we love to have a party so any special occasions is always celebrated.

Student Nurse

“I think Stanley Wilson Lodge is wonderful with lovely friendly staff and a good atmosphere. I hope it is still here if I should need help later on.”

“I was particularly impressed by the cheerfulness of those who worked in the Reynolds area, constantly passing a cheery word with all the residents, and Mum told me that they were all very kind to her, particularly when she was taken ill.  I am so glad that she was able to enjoy all the pre-Christmas events and I have to say it was some long time since I had seen her looking as animated as she did at your Christmas party”

“Our many thanks to the kind and dedicated staff at Stanley Wilson Lodge, that have a caring and compassionate manner in looking after the residents.  This helps to create a bright and positive atmosphere throughout the rooms and day room”

“A very caring and kind atmosphere prevails at Stanley Wilson Lodge.  In the position of having both my parents as residents at Stanley Wilson Lodge, both my family and I feel very lucky that we managed to secure them places.  The nurses, carers and staff generally have assisted in making a difficult transition a much less stressful and anxious process than it might otherwise have been.  The degree of compassion and patience exercised by the staff at Stanley Wilson Lodge in often difficult situations is impressive indeed, and all with a very willing smile”

“Being very new, the building and facilities are impressive but what really counts is the level of care and at Stanley Wilson Lodge it is exemplary”

“We cannot adequately express to you how fortunate we were that Mum was able to live at Stanley Wilson Lodge for her last year.  The entire team made her time in Saffron Walden as safe, affectionate and happy as it could have been.  Furthermore, we always found everyone, (the housekeeper, the meal servers, the receptionists and the carers) to be genuinely concerned for the welfare and happiness of both residents and visitors.  This attitude never seemed to be forced.  It creates a very attractive atmosphere in often challenging circumstances”

“My sisters and I thought we should let you know how pleased we were with the care our mother is received at Stanley Wilson Lodge.  We were incredibly impressed with the compassion and gentleness that ALL of your staff show your residents.  We know that our mother could not have been cared for in a better home”

“I wish to express my heartfelt thanks for all that Stanley Wilson Lodge did for my mother. She was very comfortable in your care and felt Stanley Wilson was ‘home’. Thank you all for doing such a wonderful job, often in trying circumstances and for providing a happy and caring environment for my Mum’s final months and also for supporting me”
