Set in a bright modern building, just off the South Circular Road near Tulse Hill, Limetree is a spacious 92-bed care home that celebrates diversity, equality and harmony.
Our team and residents reflect the vibrant local community and provide kind, compassionate respite care and long term residential care, residential dementia care, nursing care, nursing dementia care and end of life care, in a stimulating and homely environment.
Living in the local area, as well as nearby Brixton and Camberwell, our dedicated team deliver sensitive and supportive care to all residents. This is reflected in our Beacon Status with the Gold Standards Framework which recognises high-quality care – particularly for those people nearing the end of their life.
Whilst we are proud of our homely, welcoming environment, we recognise Limetree’s real strength lies in its caring and dedicated team members.
Carefully selected for their kind nature and values, our team members ensure they treat all residents with respect and dignity, supporting and embracing everyone’s unique qualities. At Limetree, we recognise everyone is an individual and respect people’s own personal preferences, likes and dislikes.
By getting to know each of the people we care for, our team members form close bonds with them which is reflected in the compassionate care they provide.
Their sensitive approach to care supports residents to feel safe, comfortable and reassured – which is particularly important for people living with dementia, whose reality may be very different from our own.
Through our close relationships with residents, we are able to better understand not only their care needs but their emotional and wellbeing needs too.
This enables us to deliver person-centred care which reflects and supports someone’s mood, feelings, conditions and changing communication needs.
Our team’s dedication to supporting residents to live a comfortable and happy life has been recognised through our Gold Standards Framework Beacon Status – a marker of high-quality care, particularly for people nearing the end of their life.
Limetree is a lovely purpose-built care home which offers spacious and comfortable living.
We have a wide range of easily-accessed communal spaces from bright and airy lounges – perfect for our activities and events - to our beautiful gardens where green-fingered residents tend to vegetables in our raised beds and greenhouse.
Our dining rooms provide a lovely setting for mealtimes where freshly-prepared, homecooked meals are served. With a regularly changing menu, residents can enjoy a wide variety of food which reflects their likes and dislikes, as well as their cultural and dietary needs. For the residents who prefer to eat in the comfort of their own room, food is served by their bedside.
All of our 92 bedrooms, which are grouped together in smaller care suites, have en-suite bathrooms to support dignity and independence with some enjoying views over the lovely gardens. Residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms with photographs, ornaments, belongings and small items of furniture, if they wish, creating a familiar and comfortable space in which to relax and spend time.
Within the residential dementia suite, we have designed an environment which specifically supports the needs of people living with dementia – creating an engaging suite which encourages independence and freedom of choice.
Wide corridors and seating areas feature an array of interesting items which stimulate the imagination and senses such as a dressing table, complete with jewellery and brushes, activity stations which include tactile items to touch and a music station with soft musical instruments to play.
We have found this environment particularly beneficial to those people living with dementia as they are able to freely interact with interesting areas of the suite, focussing their minds on meaningful activities and occupation which, in turn, promotes the reduction of anxiety and an increase in wellbeing.
At Limetree we promote wellbeing and enjoyment through our range of group and 1-2-1 activities and events on offer.
There is a great emphasis on building friendships and maintaining relationships here with a host of activities for everyone to enjoy – including friends and family who are always welcome to come and take part.
From arts and crafts, baking and pottery classes, which stimulate the imagination and senses, to light exercise groups which help residents to stay physically active, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
We love celebrating birthdays and key events that interest the residents throughout the year such as Black History Month and St Patrick’s Day. Our excellent catering team also enjoys supporting these days with cakes, themed food and refreshments!
Our lovely garden is used not only to take a stroll and get some fresh air but also for gardening activities where residents tend to a variety of beautiful plants and flowers.
Linking with our local community is also a vital part of life at Limetree, so as well as getting out and about to local places of interest such as Lambeth Palace, Greenwich Maritime Museum and day trips to the seaside, we enjoy regularly bringing all ages together and welcome pupils from our local primary schools and nurseries to join in a variety of activities with residents too.
In addition, for those people living with dementia, our Memory Café provides the perfect location to gain advice and support from mental health team professionals.
Based just off the South Circular Road and a few minutes from the A23, Limetree is easily accessible by road. Tulse Hill station is within easy walking distance and Brixton Underground station is a short bus ride away.
