Goldenley Home & Day Care
Goldenley is a friendly, homely 41-bed Care Home that provides residential and dementia care for older people. Situated in South Benfleet, we aim to create a cosy atmosphere and encourage our residents to be as independent as possible.
At Goldenley, we have 41 beds with six en-suite facilities and two shared rooms.
Goldenley is all on ground level with easy access to our garden areas, with a separate Day Care Centre located on the 1st floor.
We have a variety of quiet areas for residents to use for a retreat or for entertaining visitors when the visitor’s room is busy. A large number of our staff have worked here for many years, and take on a caring extended family role.
We employ two cooks, so all our food is freshly cooked and choices are offered at every meal, with snacks and drinks at regular intervals. District Nurses attend to anyone who needs that extra bit of clinical attention.
Goldenley is surrounded by garden with three enclosed patio areas, which are ideal for enjoying warmer weather. For indoor relaxation, we have a sensory room with a light unit that reflects colours, shapes and pictures over the ceiling and walls, with calming music. Our sensory unit is mobile so we can move it to our poorly residents’ bedroom. At Goldenley, we pride ourselves on our dedication to understanding dementia. Our facilities include:

Day Centre Manager – Jenny Heath
“I would like to pay tribute to the wonderful staff at Goldenley Care Centre, in Richmond Avenue, Benfleet. My wife and I feel compelled to offer our sincerest thanks to Goldenley in providing such exceptional care. From the very first day she and we, were made very wlcome. We both witnessed an extraodinary amount of tenderness, and love which left us overwhelmed. Far too often we hear negative stories about care for the elderly, but Goldenley provided a positive experience. Thank you so much to everyone at Goldenley, we will not forget how much they did. The care shown could not have been more thoughtful or caring. We felt we found a little bit of heaven in Benfleet.”
“After her two week stay in Goldenley we noticed a distinct improvement in her conversation, awareness and responsiveness.”
