Okeley Care Home
Okeley is a modern purpose built 84-bed Care Home with first class facilities that specialises in dementia and care of the elderly.
With spacious bedrooms and luxury ensuite wet rooms, Okeley Care Home provides accommodation and care for elderly people.
Okeley has been developed on the site of the previous Okeley Care Home, which was closed in 2009 to allow for development of a new Care facility.
Today Okeley Care Centre is an 84-bed Home, registered under the Health & Social Care Act, with four landscaped garden areas including a courtyard with water features for our residents and visitors to enjoy. These communal garden areas are fully accessible for disabled residents providing a variety of outside space. The gardens have been designed to provide sensory stimulation and offer a safe haven for quiet times. Raised planters give every resident an opportunity to get involved in planting and Garden projects.
The Home is built over three floors with two lifts located at opposite ends of the Building. All 84 rooms are single and include en-suite facilities. Bedrooms in excess of 12m2 bring independence for the severely disabled and safety for those staff supporting care.
The simple design and layout of the building provides wide corridors with good lighting, to bring greater independence to our residents. Lounges, dining rooms and quiet rooms are situated around the Home close to the bedrooms to ensure free access, so our residents can choose how and where they spend their day. Six bedrooms have interconnecting doors to provide space for couples that require residential care and wish to continue living together.
Every detail has been carefully thought through and constructed. Even the catering and laundry facilities have been designed to provide a pleasant working environment for staff. Our five self-contained group living units each provide:
- Lounge/dining area
Other facilities include:
- Specialist baths
- Quiet rooms
- Ample parking
- Fully accessible secure Sensory Gardens
- Library services
- GP services from local practices

“Dear Okeley Team many thanks for your care of my mother during her week of respite with you 2nd September – 9th September. Although her short term memory is affected she seemed very happy being with you. We found your staff to be so friendly and helpful. Thank you. “
” To all the wonderful Staff at Okeley, I just wanted to say the most heartfelt thank you to you all. You are truly amazing people who showed my dear Mum nothing but Kindness and dignity. Thank you again for everything.”
” My mum and I popped in for a look around visit on Tuesday on the 28th of February and I just want to say to you and your staff just how very, very impressed we both were with Okeley. The well laid out rooms are so tidy and clean and we loved all the different personalities of the rooms and fixtures and fittings.”
“Thank you all for the excellent buffet you prepared for us on Saturday. It was really appreciated.”
“From the moment I walked through the door I knew that this was absolutely where I wanted my mother to be. The building itself is beautiful, but the professionalism of your staff is outstanding. I truly felt I had landed in heaven. The care she received was the kind I could only have dreamt of. You cared for her, allowed her to keep her dignity but most of all you showed her love. I am still reeling at how kind they all were. To say I am grateful would be the largest understatement I could make. I will be eternally grateful to you for making the unbearable bearable. Thank you, thank you, thank you”
“My brother and I would like to say thank you to you and all your staff at Okeley. We always knew that she was safe, warm and loved. The staff who cared for her gave her so much time and affection. You gave us piece of mind during the last few years of her life.”
”Will you please give this card to the staff who looked after my husband for the short time he was with you. They were all very efficient and caring and so thoughtful. My family and I will never forget this kindness. We felt that a huge weight was being taken off our shoulders.”
“We appreciate everything you do to make her life a little easier”
“Everyone in the home regardless of what stage their dementia has reached, is cared for in a wonderful way and treated as a human being, something denied so many people”
“Every member of staff I came into contact with treated him with respect, kindness and good humour. Nothing was too much trouble”
“We will miss our visits to Okeley”
“We thank you all for your kindness and care during that time. You made mum (and us) feel very welcome”
“He often remarked to us how much he loved being at Okeley; all the staff and how kind everyone was to him”
“The carers were always kind and cheerful and willing to go the extra mile. Since i’ve been home, i’ve been spreading the word & telling everyone how wonderful you are”
