The people at Sweyne Court Care Home in Rayleigh are trying to set the record for the most Christmas trees on display in an Excelcare home!
With the Christmas countdown underway, our homes have been pulling out all of the stops with their festive decor, both internally and externally. The people living and working at Sweyne Court have filled their home with festive decorations, including three Christmas trees which were kindly donated by members of their local community.
Two of the trees were slimline ones, which have been placed either side of the fireplace in the ground floor lounge. Everyone keeps commenting on how beautiful and festive they make the already cosy area.
The third donated tree is an amazing eight feet tall and comes with a beautiful backstory. The teacher that donated the tree told the team that it was 30 years old. She has needed a smaller tree for a while now but felt that she could not part with it as it had seen her children grow from babies to adults, bringing so many memories. However, she felt that now was the right time and that Sweyne Court was the perfect place for it to make more memories.
Everyone at Sweyne Court was delighted to receive this tree in perfect condition and set it up to take pride of place in their ground floor dining room. When the team sent a picture to the teacher, she said that it brought tears to her eyes to see the tree looking to grand in its new home. The tree brought her many years of joy, and she hopes that it does the same for the people that live in the home.
These three donated trees mean that Sweyne Court now have eight trees displayed in their home. Does this set the record for the most trees displayed in an Excelcare home? We will have to see!
