Social Worker and Friend of Resident

We would like to thank all the staff at Sweyne Court for the professional and attentive care our Dad received from you in the last year of his life. From the first time I visited Sweyne Court I had a very strong feeling that it was a place where we would be happy for our father to reside and in particular that you would make him welcome following the recent loss of his wife. Those strong feelings were not misplaced.

A bright and attractive home from home

Sweyne Court-7800.jpgLight, airy and modern, Sweyne Court is a family-run home that provides a friendly, relaxed environment, offering a high quality of life for the people who live with us and a real sense of community.

Our skilled and trained team members, many of whom have worked with us for a number of years, are passionate about giving residents a sense of belonging, as well as independence.

Their longstanding careers with us, give our team members the unique insights and expertise into best practice when it comes to helping older people to lead enriched lives in a safe, happy and supported environment.

Our Day Centre is open on weekdays and supports older people from the local community – providing companionship, personal care, wash facilities, home-cooked meals and the opportunity for some light relief from their own homes.

Across our home we benefit from stylish communal lounges, dining rooms and quiet rooms, which are attractively decorated and furnished to provide lots of space and choice for residents to spend their time.

At Sweyne Court we also have a wealth of activities on offer. Our Lifestyle Coordinators ensure there’s something to suit everyone’s needs, with options for those who enjoy a slower pace of life. There’s plenty of opportunity to relax in peace or spend time amongst nature in our lovely gardens with rural views.

Enhancing lives in a supportive environment

Sweyne Court - Excel Care-7743.jpgSweyne Court is a lively and fun place, where the comfort, safety and wellbeing of the people we care for always comes first.

Our team love spending quality time with each resident, getting to know their likes, dislikes and life stories. This knowledge underpins our approach, ensuring we’re able to provide appropriate care for each resident in a way that’s preferred by them.

We find that residents settle into life here quickly, thanks to our kind, compassionate approach to caregiving. For example, we encourage all residents to make their rooms their own, decorating them with personal belongings and their own soft furnishings. The team are always there for families too, sharing their expertise and insights into care and helping everyone to adjust to life and health changes.

We go out of our way to give the residents space to enjoy existing and new friendships as well as hobbies. From light-hearted card and board game afternoons to art and cooking classes, our Lifestyle Coordinators make sure there is a range of events to interest everyone.

Many residents find our fun music therapy sessions to be really beneficial and as part of our activities programme, we aim to strike a brilliant balance between exercise, relaxation and socialising. This helps to make each day interesting, varied and fulfilling.

Mealtimes are an important focus of each day too. Everyone comes together to enjoy the fresh food prepared by our imaginative chefs, who excel at creating residents’ favourite meals, while catering to a variety of dietary needs and cultural preferences.

A family-oriented home

Sweyne Court - Excel Care-7576.jpgAt Sweyne Court, we pride ourselves on creating a totally inclusive and caring atmosphere where our open-door policy means that families are encouraged to be involved in their loved one’s bespoke and tailored care.

We organise regular barbecues, tea parties and other celebrations, with people of all generations coming together for a fun day in our beautiful gardens. Regular day trips to church coffee mornings, the local market and pub lunches in Rayleigh, also ensure residents remain active members of their local community.

At Sweyne Court we are confident that we provide a unique setting in which everyone gets the loving attention and support that they deserve – supporting everyone as we would do with our own family members.

This care is also extended to our two cats that live here too. Residents love nothing more than spending time with them and caring for them.
