Garry lives at  Peartree Care Home and has many wonderful memories from a life filled with family, adventure, and achievement. Born and raised in Lewisham, Garry grew up in a lively household alongside his four brothers and four sisters. As the middle child in such a large family, there was always something happening and never a dull moment. Surrounded by love, laughter, and plenty of family fun, Garry looks back on his childhood with great fondness.

As he grew older, Garry met the love of his life, Kate, and the couple went on to marry and raise their son, Francis. Family has always been at the centre of Garry's life, and he and Kate created many happy memories together over the years. One of their greatest shared passions was travelling, and they enjoyed exploring new places whenever they had the opportunity. Their love of travel was passed on to Francis, who later moved to Lisbon, Portugal. This gave Garry and Kate another reason to continue their adventures, as they visited their son many times and enjoyed experiencing life in a new country while spending precious time together as a family.

Garry is a man of many talents and interests. He enjoys playing the guitar, listening to Paul McCartney's music, and keeping up with his lifelong love of football. His passion for the sport extended far beyond being a spectator. In fact, Garry was once an accomplished footballer and achieved the remarkable honour of playing for Chelsea for a year, proudly wearing the number 8 shirt. Unfortunately, a foot injury brought his football career to an early end, but it never diminished his love for the game. To this day, Garry enjoys watching football on television and following the teams and players he has always admired.

Although his injury closed one chapter of his life, it opened the door to an exciting new career. Garry became a supplier of food supplements for restaurants, a role that combined his strong work ethic with his passion for travel. Through his work, he had the opportunity to visit more than 20 countries around the world, often sharing these incredible experiences with his family. Each destination brought new memories, but one of his favourite adventures was travelling to India. Garry was fascinated by the country's rich culture, traditions, and way of life, and the experience left him with a deep sense of respect and appreciation for the people and places he encountered.

Today, Garry enjoys sharing stories from his remarkable life and reflecting on the many experiences that have shaped him. Whether talking about his football career, his travels around the world, or the special memories he made with Kate, Francis, and his wider family, Garry's stories are full of warmth, humour, and adventure. Reminiscing about those treasured moments brings him great happiness and allows others to share in the wonderful journey that has made Garry who he is today.
