In October, we celebrated our annual Team Appreciation event, taking the opportunity to recognise the incredible people in the Excelcare Family and the life-changing difference they make every day.

Our team members are at the heart of everything we do. Through their kindness, compassion and commitment, they help create welcoming communities where the people living in our care homes feel valued, supported and cared for. Team Appreciation is our opportunity to say thank you and show how much we appreciate everything they do.

With more than 2,500 team members across our 30 care homes, regional offices, homecare service, and Central Support Office, we are incredibly proud of the people who make Excelcare what it is today. This year, every team member received a voucher and a letter from our CEO, Osman ‘Ozzie’ Ertosun and COO, Sam Manning, expressing their gratitude for the dedication and the difference they make throughout the year.

We also wanted each home to choose the way they celebrated. From pizza parties and Oscar-themed award ceremonies to barbecues, our colleagues came together to enjoy the occasion, recognise one another’s achievements, and celebrate the wonderful work they do each day.

Seeing these celebrations take place across the Excelcare Family was a proud moment for our Chief Operating Officer, Sam Manning, who shared a heartfelt message of thanks:

“We hope everyone enjoyed taking the time to celebrate their achievements and recognise one another for the kindness and commitment shown each day. Ozzie and I remain truly grateful for every member of the Excelcare Family. Thank you for the selfless, inspiring, and life-changing difference you make to the lives of the people we care for and to your colleagues across the organisation.”

It was also lovely to see relatives sharing their own messages of appreciation with the teams who care for their loved ones. Their kind words were a reminder of just how much our colleagues mean to the people and families we support.

Among the messages we received were:

“We really appreciate your team and all that they do. We would not be here today without them.”

“You are all amazing and do incredible work.”

These messages mean a great deal to us. They reflect the relationships our colleagues build with residents and their families, and the reassurance, comfort, and happiness they bring to people’s lives.

We know that the difference our teams make goes far beyond a single celebration. It can be found in the everyday moments of kindness, the friendships they build and the care they provide when it matters most.

Team Appreciation 2026 was our opportunity to celebrate these contributions and remind every member of the Excelcare Family how valued they are.
