There are some people who become the heart of a care home, and for everyone at Fitzwilliam House Care Home, that person was Phyllis.
Residents, relatives, colleagues and members of the Regional Team recently came together to celebrate the retirement of the home's much-loved Administrator, marking an incredible 18 years as part of the family.
For nearly two decades, Phyllis has been the friendly face welcoming visitors through the front door, offering reassurance to families and sharing countless conversations with residents. Her warmth, kindness and unwavering support have made a lasting difference to the lives of so many, creating relationships that have stood the test of time.
The celebration was filled with laughter, music, refreshments and heartfelt stories as everyone reminisced about the many happy memories they had shared with Phyllis. It was the perfect opportunity to thank her for the compassion and commitment she has shown every single day.
"Phyllis has been a valued part of the Fitzwilliam House family for 18 years. Her kindness, dedication and unwavering support have touched the lives of so many residents, families and colleagues. While we will miss her dearly, we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done and wish her a long, happy and well-deserved retirement,” said Georgiana, Home Manager at Fitzwilliam House Care Home
Reflecting on her time at the care home, Phyllis shared:
"It has been a privilege to be part of the Fitzwilliam House family for the past 18 years. I have made so many wonderful memories and built lasting friendships with residents, families and colleagues. I will miss everyone greatly, but I leave with a heart full of gratitude and appreciation for all the support and kindness I have received over the years."
