There was love and celebration in the air at Goldenley Care Home in South Benfleet, as everyone celebrated Elsie and Dennis’ 72nd wedding anniversary!
It is important to make every birthday and anniversary special for the people living at Goldenley, and the team strive to make sure that everyone feels cherished and supported on their special days. 72 is such an impressive amount of time to be married, so the home pulled out all of the stops for Elsie and Dennis!
There were smiles on both of the cheery couple’s faces as they were presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, as well as loads of cards from friends, relatives, and other people living at the home. They truly felt like celebrities as everyone congratulated them on their big day and asked them more about their love for each other.
Elsie, who is very quick-witted, jokingly said that she would “get less for murder”, which made everyone in the room laugh. However, she followed it up with a sweet comment, saying “no, I love Den just as much today as I did back then in our day.” This prompted a few “aww”s from the people around them, and Dennis grinned and gave Elsie a big cuddle.
Happy 72nd anniversary to the loving couple, and here’s to many more!
