Ensuring that the people that live with us have adequate hydration is a crucial part of providing support in care homes. Essentially, the drink that we consume has a direct correlation to our health, wellbeing and fundamentally our quality of life.
One of the ways to ensure the people that live with us always have access to hydration is by setting up a hydration station to provide varied, imaginative options that encourage everyone, including team members, to drink throughout the day.
Hospitality Lead Andrew Seal challenged the homes across the group to develop their own hydration stations, in a bid to win £100 in Amazon vouchers.
Many of our teams rose to the challenge, filling their hydration stations with colourful decorations and inventive drinks. In the end, the entries were so wonderful that the winner had to be put to a vote, as it was too difficult to decide!
The final prize went to Castlemead Court Care Home in Milton Keynes, whose tropical themed hydration station caught the eye of the most voters across the group.
Congratulations to the team at Castlemead Court, a gift card will be on its way to you soon!
