On Wednesday 2 September 2026, colleagues from across Cambridge and Milton Keynes came together at the Cambridge Regional Office for an exciting day of camaraderie, friendly competition, and fundraising in support of the Excelcare Foundation. 

The Fundraising Fun Games Day brought together Home Managers, Deputy Managers, Care Managers, Home Administrators, Regional Team members, and Maintenance Teams from across the region for an action-packed day of teamwork and friendly competition. Divided into four teams, participants went head-to-head in six exciting challenges, all competing for the prestigious Excelcare Shield.

Running from 10:00am to 3:00pm, the day was packed with energy, laughter, teamwork, and friendly rivalry. Participants took on a series of challenges designed to test their communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills, all while raising valuable funds for the Excelcare Foundation. Events included darts, magnetic football, the Pickleball Target Challenge, the Pipeline Challenge, Super Skills, and Hyper Dash, with teams demonstrating determination, collaboration, and plenty of competitive spirit throughout the day.

Alongside the games, a raffle was held to generate additional funds for the Excelcare Foundation. Thanks to the generosity and support of colleagues across the region, the raffle made a significant contribution to the day's fundraising efforts. Together, participants raised an incredible £600, helping to support the Foundation's vital work in providing assistance to Excelcare team members and their families during times of hardship and when extra help is needed most.

More than just a fundraising event, the day highlighted the strength of the Excelcare community. By bringing together colleagues from different homes and departments, it fostered stronger relationships while celebrating the teamwork, commitment, and camaraderie that are at the heart of the region's success.

Following a closely contested competition, the Home Administrators Team emerged victorious, claiming the prestigious Excelcare Shield. The Deputy Managers and Care Managers Team secured a well-deserved second place after delivering an impressive performance throughout the day. The Maintenance Team finished in third place, while the Home Managers Team took fourth place. Congratulations to all participants for their enthusiasm, determination, and outstanding team spirit, which played a key role in making the event such a memorable success.

As the final scores were tallied and the champions crowned, it was clear that the greatest achievement of the day was not the competition itself, but the unity, generosity, and teamwork displayed by everyone involved.
