The people living at Windmill Lodge Care Home in Brixton had a dough-lightful time in one of their activity sessions recently!
Maureen, one of the people living at the home, has expressed a real interest in bread making. She often speaks about how she would love to make her own bread with the team members of Windmill Lodge. So, the team decided to make this a reality and brought out the bread maker for Maureen to use.
Maureen was really excited when she heard this and rushed to wash her hands and get ready to bake some bread. Susan the Lifestyle Coordinator laid out all the ingredients on the table, supporting Maureen to weigh and measure the correct amounts. Then, the two of them worked together to mix the ingredients and get the bread started.
There was a wonderful smile on Maureen’s face as she mixed all the ingredients together in a bowl. You could tell that she was truly in her element and was so excited to make something tasty that everyone could enjoy. While baking, she reminisced about how she used to bake bread a lot in her past.
Maureen was in charge of pouring the mixture into the bread maker; a role that she took great pride in. The smell of freshly baked bread filled the room as it was cooking and got everyone so excited to try it!
The finished product looked amazing, and everyone agreed that Maureen did a fantastic job.
