It was an action-packed day of excitement at The Willows Care Home recently as they hosted their annual summer fete.
This event is an enjoyable day in the calendar where everyone who lives and works at the home, alongside their family and friends, come together to enjoy the summer sun and some delicious food and drink.
This year, the team went out all out and organised a variety of enjoyable activities for people to take part in. There were stalls selling items, entertainment from the wonderful Alison Carter, a BBQ overseen by the kitchen team and some other competitive games to get involved with. One of the newest additions to their fete was a bouncy castle which not only proved fun for the children in attendance, but many of the adults too!
Suzanne, who lives at The Willows thoroughly enjoyed all the fete had to offer, making the most of interactive games and delicious food that was being served. One of her daughters, Charity, was also in attendance on the day to experience the fete with her mum. Many of the team said how wonderful it was to see them enjoying time together in the sun.
Lifestyle Coordinator Amy knows Suzanne very well and that she is always up for trying something new, so she asked if Suzanne would like to join her on the bouncy castle. Of course, Suzanne said yes and hopped straight on! Charity also joined in with the action, and the trio locked hands as they jumped and bounced around together – you could tell they were all having great fun by the smiles on their faces.
Suzanne successfully proved that age is just a number and at the age of 67, jumping around on a bouncy castle can be just as fun as when you are young. For Charity, it was a lovely way to end the day, making happy memories and laughing with her mum.
That’s what the summer fete is all about and Suzanne has already said she can’t wait to do it all again next year!
