The people at Windmill Lodge Care Home in London have been kitting out the home with as many union jacks as possible, in time for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee!
The team at the home know just how important an event like the Jubilee is for the people living at Windmill. So, they wanted to make sure they made the home look as special as possible for the majestic occasion.
Everyone got together to choose their favourite union jack colouring templates from a variety of options. Then the tables were covered with old newspaper, paint, brushes, colouring pencils and paint, and everyone was able to let their creative juices flow.
The activity proved to be a great social event, and everyone engaged in hearty discussion as they coloured in their union jacks. Lucy thought it would be funny to try and convince everyone that she is actually the Queen’s sister, but Jonathan saw through it straight away. “Stop cheating, you are not the Queen’s sister!” he declared, and then everybody erupted into laughter.
Potential Royal relatives aside, Gloria is very pleased with the artwork she created in this session. She was so proud when the team told her that they will be used as decoration for Windmill’s Platinum Jubilee Party.
