Team members at The Willows Care Home in Milton Keynes recently took on the ice bucket challenge to raise money for Comic Relief.
With the sun shining down, the team thought it would be the perfect opportunity to do the challenge as they would soon dry off. Word was spread around the home and residents were excited to watch the team take on the challenge.
Brian, who lives in a residential suite at The Willows has fundraised for a variety of worthy causes throughout his life, so he was especially excited and wanted to take part to help raise money for Comic Relief.
ahead of the challenge, seats were placed in a circle outside the front of The Willows Care Home. The team and Brain then took their seats and braced themselves for the short, sharp, shock of the cold water. Supporting team members then picked up buckets of cold water and counted down, before pouring the water over the participants.
The cold was certainly a shock, but the people taking part realised the 30 seconds of discomfort was helping to raise money for a very worthy cause. The people watching cheered and clapped the group for embracing the challenge and completing it with smiles on their faces.
After warming up inside, the group relaxed with a warm drink and found out they raised a total of £22.00 for Comic Relief. Although a small amount, the team and residents were very proud to help fundraise for a very important cause.
