With the sun shining down at Sweyne Court Care Home, the team thought it was the perfect opportunity to have a barbecue in the garden!
Changing the mealtime setting to outdoors is always welcomed by the people living at Sweyne Court as it means they can enjoy their food whilst taking in the sights and sounds of nature.
Before heading outdoors, the team helped people to put on sun cream to ensure they were protected. There were also chairs in the shade available where people could sit and cool off.
The team from the kitchen then came outside to light the barbecue and start preparing the flame-grilled lunch! This included burgers, hot dogs, chips, salad and vegetable skewers. Residents said the barbecue smelt delicious and brought back lots of happy memories of summers spent in the garden with their families.
The food was then served, and everyone agreed it tasted just as delicious as it smelled!
After lunch, Debbie Rainworth came to perform some 70’s and 80’s classics! She sang a range of popular songs from the past and had the whole garden moving along from their chairs. Those who knew the words sang along with Debbie and impressed her with their singing voices.
Everyone had a really good day eating delicious food and listening to their favourite songs with their friends. Hopefully, the warm weather continues so they can host more lunches in the garden at Sweyne Court.
