Matilda, a dedicated and compassionate team member at Sweyne Court Care Home is set to retire today after 18 years of unwavering commitment to the Excelcare Family.
Arriving in England 18 years ago with minimal possessions and limited knowledge of English, Matilda found solace and purpose at Sweyne Court Care Home. Upon learning of her situation, the entire team rallied together to support Matilda, providing her with essential items to help welcome her and make her transition to the UK as smooth as possible.
Matilda's commitment to growth and learning is truly inspiring. Starting with only a few words of English, she embarked on a journey to master the language. To do this, she enrolled in courses and learned from colleagues and residents.
Not content with just mastering the language, Matilda pursued further education within the company, completing her Health & Social Care NVQ through an apprenticeship. Her dedication extended beyond her professional responsibilities, as she undertook a physiotherapy course, providing support to colleagues and residents alike.
Matilda's generosity and kindness knew no bounds. Known for her warm spirit, she frequently shared gifts, prepared Polish delicacies for the team, and created a friendly atmosphere within Sweyne Court. Residents, family members, and colleagues alike express their gratitude for her unwavering support.
As Matilda prepares to return to her homeland of Poland at the age of 72, Sweyne Court acknowledges her as a true ambassador for the home. To celebrate her remarkable journey and bid her a fond farewell, a party will be held with her colleagues and residents of Sweyne Court today. Matilda's departure will undoubtedly leave a void at Sweyne Court, but her legacy of compassion and dedication will resonate for years to come.
