Team members and residents at Sherrell House Care Home in Chigwell have been creating vision boards and outlining their goals for 2024 this month.
Home Manager Jane led this activity, and asked every person living and working in the home to make one. Not only so they could display them and review the goals they have achieved at the end of the year, but also as a way to think positively for the year ahead and have attainable goals they can each achieve.
Everyone enjoyed putting their arts and crafts skills to the test to make their vision boards unique, before thinking of meaningful goals to fill them with. Some people wanted to spend more time with their loved ones, some wanted to travel more, whilst others had self-care and health goals.
Taking part in this activity has inspired residents and team members to achieve the goals they have set for themselves! It was a wonderful project for residents to be a part of as it encouraged them to have a positive outlook on the year and connect with their friends and the team members over the ambitions and aims they have for 2024.
When asked if she had any advice for the younger generations this year, a resident named Patricia said, “ I advise all the young people to put the phones down this year and get outside more, see the world and focus on better things”.
Everyone at Sherrell House is looking forward to achieving their goals in 2024 and looking back on how far they have come at the end of the year!
