In December, Sherrell House Care Home in Essex received a wonderful surprise from members of their local community!
Students from Caterham High School, a school local to the home, had joined together to send their season’s greetings with some wonderful gifts. The school children had put together Christmas hampers filled with lots of treats, for the people living at Sherrell House to enjoy.
The hampers were filled with a large assortment of items, including chocolates, biscuits, coffee, hot chocolate, marmalade, jam, tinned food, toiletries, socks, and some specifically festive items. The hampers looked absolutely wonderful, and the people at Sherrell House were blown away when they arrived.
It was such a generous and appreciated donation at a time of year when some people can feel quite lonely. It has been quite a difficult time for some of the people living in Sherrell House who have limited contact with their friends and family, so this act of kindness was greatly appreciated.
The people at Sherrell House would like to thank Caterham High School for the wonderful act of kindness. They have enjoyed tucking into all the wonderful things they sent them, and they will be thinking of them as they make their way through the hampers!
