Reverend Alan recently visited the people living at Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley to host a church service with the people living there.
Many of the people who live at Park Avenue follow the Christian faith, and the team always support people to continue practicing the faiths they have followed throughout their lives. This helps a person to maintain their identity and also their community links.
Throughout the last two years, most church services have had to be delivered virtually due to the restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic. Everyone was very grateful to the reverends who hosted virtual sessions, but longed for in-person visits to be permitted again.
Now the restrictions have eased, residents were excited to welcome Reverend Alan back into their home.
The people who wanted to sit in on the service gathered in the activity room to wait for Reverend Alan. Upon his arrival, he handed out hymn sheets to residents and started his service.
Throughout the service, they sang hymns, listened to verses from the bible and also prayed together.
It was a well-enjoyed session and residents were thankful to Rev. Alan for coming to host the service in their home.
