A few weeks ago, the team at Primrose Croft Care Home in Cambridge received an email from law firm Thackray Williams, who wanted to invite the people living at the home to a Virtual Juke Box and Cream Tea event on the 20th May.
Thackray Williams very kindly sent the home a hamper in preparation for the event. It was filled to the brim with scones, clotted cream and jam, an assortment of cakes and tea bags, and a cake stand.
All of the items were laid out beautifully on the tables in the Dining Room on the day of the event, and the residents gathered around them, ready to begin.
The event started with a performance from Roger Lewin, a pianist. The guests really enjoyed his work, singing along to some of the tunes and swaying in their chairs, with a few of them also getting up to dance with the team! Roger played a variety of songs during his slot, even taking some time to ask for requests.
Everybody enjoyed the entertainment and refreshments and thought that it was a wonderful thing for Thackray Williams to do. Gestures like this really do make the people in our homes feel loved and a part of the community.
