Pierina is a resident of Windmill Lodge Care Home in London and as many of her friends know, is very creatively talented.
Continuing her creative hobbies is something the team members at the home support and encourage her to do. One of her hobbies was knitting, which she did for many years, but unfortunately finds this challenging today because of a hand injury. So she has recently had a go at colouring and painting, a hobby she practiced throughout her younger years.
After spending time completing a colouring sheet recently, she realised how much she enjoyed colouring and painting. It also reminded her how talented she is and taking part helped to bring back memories from her youth.
Pierina had a great time getting creative and colouring in picture sheets. This soon became a hobby for her, and she began requesting more and more colouring sheets to complete. Each picture she completed was unique and the bright colours she used really made her art stand out. The team could see how happy how much she was enjoying this and supported her to purchase a colouring book and a variety of pencils and felt tips pens so she could practice her hobby whenever she wanted.
To show off all of her colourful works, Pierina’s art has been displayed on a large board at the home, forming an eye-catching art display.
Seeing Pierina enjoy and excel in a hobby from her past has been heart-warming for the team to witness and they look forward to seeing which artwork she will make next.
