The people living at Fitzwilliam House Care Home all have one thing in common, their love for dogs!
Time spent with dogs not only helps to boost wellbeing, but also provides comfort and helps to bring back fond memories of pets they have owned in the past.
Chris is the son of a lady who lives at Fitzwilliam House who breeds poodles for a living, so he always brings a puppy along with him to raise smiles at the home. Residents love it when he visits, as they get to spend time with an adorable puppy and benefit from the love and companionship only dogs can offer.
During his most recent visit, the people living at Fitzwilliam were very keen to learn about the breed, so he explained how miniature poodles are intelligent, athletic dogs who love companionship and are easy to get along with. They are wonderful family dogs as they are eager to please, have a very gentle demeanour and are easy to train. They make loving and loyal companions.
He also told the group that he has five poodle puppies at the moment and brought along pictures of them all for people to look at. They are all named after flowers – Poppy, Pansy, Ivy and Daisy. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed listening to Chris speak about his dogs and learning more about the breed.
Spending time with the puppy, also helped to provide comfort to the people living at Fitzwilliam House, so much so that they didn’t want him to leave!
People enjoyed speaking about dogs into the evening, sharing memories of their own pets and all the funny stories they had.
The residents of Fitzwilliam now look forward to seeing Chris again, to hear about the puppies’ progress and spend more time petting his paw-fect poodles.
