The residents of Primrose Croft Care Home enjoyed making and flying paper planes at the home recently in aid of National Paper Airplane Day.
After participating in National Brother’s Day a few weeks ago and having an interesting discussion about the Wright brothers, the team thought this would be a good day for everyone to get involved with.
Before people began to make their own paper planes, they enjoyed having a discussion about when they use to make planes in their younger years. Residents said it was a cheap way to keep themselves entertained and create some fun and friendly competition between friends.
The group then researched some of the different ways to make a paper plane, before deciding which ones they were going to make.
Following the folds, the residents managed to make their paper airplanes and were interested to see if they would fly well. To their surprise, they soared across the room and went much further than they expected.
They then enjoyed challenging their friends to see which of their paper planes would fly the furthest. It was amusing to watch, as some planes flew straight, whilst others did loops and hit the floor.
It was a very fun day that helped to bring back fond memories from the past too!
