During Dementia Action Week at Limetree Care Home, the team members and residents took part in Denim for Dementia day to help raise funds for the Alzheimer’s society.
Dementia Action Week is all about shining a light on Dementia and raising awareness of how the condition affects the people who live with it. It’s also a week aimed at educating people about the things they can do to help people who live with this life-changing condition.
The team at Limetree Care Home care for many people who live with Dementia, so this week is very close to home, so those working and living at the home were motivated to do what they could to get involved and raise as much money as possible.
One of the activities they got involved with was ‘denim for dementia day’, which encourages people to wear an item of denim and donate some money to the Alzheimer’s Society. It’s a simple thing that everyone can do to help improve the lives of people who live with Dementia.
Team members and residents at Limetree both got involved and donned their favourite denim for the day. David, who lives at the home, enjoyed choosing his favourite pair of jeans to wear on the day and did his bit to mark the annual awareness week.
It was great to see everyone wearing their favourite denim items, raising money for an important cause and smiling in the process.
