Jean, who lives at Limetree Care Home in London, was delighted to enjoy her lunch in the sun this week with a member of the team.
Those who work at Limetree host regular one-to-one sessions with residents, so they can benefit from the individual attention, do things they enjoy with the team and have a chance to voice any concerns or changes they would like to be actioned. They beneficial for all and each resident always looks forward to their next one-to-one session.
With the sun shining down on the gardens at Limetree, the Lifestyle Coordinators decided it might be nice to host Jean’s one-to-one session in the garden. Jean agreed and said it would be lovely, as she misses being able to go out for lunch with her children!
Lunch under a parasol in the garden was Jean’s chosen activity and the team enjoyed sitting and chatting with her while the kitchen team prepared their food. She ordered lemon and thyme breaded chicken with seasonal veg and a slice of cheesecake for dessert. This was a lovely treat for Jean and whilst they sat and ate, they observed the lovely scenery around them as well as some birds that decided to make use of the home’s birdbath.
Jean said she really enjoyed her lunch and it felt like she was in the park! Being close to nature is something many of the people at Limetree enjoy as they find it relaxing and therapeutic.
Now the weather has brightened up, the team at Limetree hopes to host many more outdoor lunches throughout the summer months!
