The team at Goldenley Care Home in Essex have been busy preparing for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, with some very special helpers.
The people living at the home have been so excited for the day and have been radiating with British pride. So, when they saw the team decorating for the big occasion, a lot of them wanted to get involved!
Goldenley is planning to hold a street party on the 3rd June, so they wanted all of the decorations prepared in advance. When the team saw that the people living at the home wanted to help, they thought it would be nice to add homemade decorations for a personal touch. The residents really love their arts and crafts sessions, so they worked to make some collages for display.
The collages were made using a variety of different arts and crafts materials, including colouring pens, strips of paper and much more. Everyone laughed and chatted as they created their art pieces, discussing Jubilee’s of the past and their excitement for this one.
Audrey and Maureen are particularly patriotic, so they thoroughly enjoyed this morning activity. Evelyn said that Queen Elizabeth is “a very special Queen” and that “no one would ever be as good as her.” Elsie seconded this, adding that the Queen “looks amazing for her age”.
