Doris lives at Goldenley Care Home in Essex and was recently delighted to attend the Mayoress' Charity Ball alongside Lifestyle Coordinator, Faith.
These esteemed invitations were given to the care home after Mayoress, Lyndsey McCarthy-Calvert visited Goldenley to attend the opening of their outdoor Tiki Bar, which was created by the people who live and work at the care home, with some help from relatives and friends along the way. This bright outdoor space provides a destination for people to eat, drink and socialise with friends, especially in the summer months.
After seeing all the hard work that had gone into creating the Tiki Bar and how excited residents were to spend time in their new outdoor space, Lyndsey decided to gift Goldenley with two tickets to her charity ball.
For helping to set up the launch event and getting guest attendance at the opening of the tiki bar, Lifestyle Coordinator Faith was offered the tickets and told she could take whoever she liked. Knowing this would be a wonderful occasion to spend with a person living at Goldenley, as a one-to-one activity in the community, Faith invited Doris to go with her.
To say Doris was excited is an understatement, as she couldn’t wait to get her glad rags on and attend the Mayoress’ Charity Ball with Faith.
On the evening of the charity ball, Faith and Doris both wore matching sparkly outfits and made their way to the ball together. The promise of a luxury three-course meal and the opportunity to show off their dance moves awaited!
The event didn’t disappoint, as Doris and Faith both said the food was delicious and they enjoyed celebrating the achievements of people in their local community for their hard work in supporting the district.
It was a wonderful evening in which Doris and Faith made happy memories together. These memories were shared with their friends at Goldenley the following day over a cup of tea and biscuits.
