Etheldred House Care Home in Cambridge is celebrating after achieving an overall rating of ‘Excellent’ in its recent PAMMS inspection.

To achieve this rating, a care home must demonstrate exceptional standards across five key areas: Involvement and Information, Personalised Care and Support, Safeguarding and Safety, Suitability of Staffing, and Quality of Management. While PAMMS is separate from the CQC inspection framework, it reflects many of the same standards and expectations. The inspection helps to identify opportunities for improvement while also recognising areas where a home is performing exceptionally well.

Achieving an ‘Excellent’ rating is a significant accomplishment and reflects the collective effort of the entire team. Every aspect of the home must work seamlessly together, with strong communication, collaboration, and a consistent focus on person-centred care. High-quality support must not only be delivered compassionately but also documented effectively, alongside a continued commitment to safeguarding, safe staffing levels, and strong leadership.

This achievement highlights the dedication of the Etheldred House team in providing high-quality care within a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment, led by compassionate professionals who are committed to making a positive difference every day.

Home Manager, Santall Horn, expressed her joy with the inspection results, stating: "We are absolutely delighted that Etheldred House Care Home has received an overall rating of EXCELLENT following our recent PAMMS inspection. This achievement is a true reflection of the dedication, compassion, and professionalism shown every day by our entire team. I am incredibly proud of the care we provide and the positive difference we make to the lives of residents and their families. We would like to thank residents, relatives, and colleagues for their continued trust and support. This recognition inspires us to continue striving for excellence in everything we do."

Osman Ertosun, CEO of Excelcare, said: “Receiving this award is a wonderful recognition of the passion and commitment our team at Etheldred House brings to supporting residents every day. Creating a place where people feel safe, valued and truly at home is at the heart of everything we do, and this achievement reflects the exceptional care and compassion shown by the team. I couldn’t be prouder of everyone at Etheldred House and all they have accomplished.”

Chief Operating Officer, Sam Manning added: “This ‘Excellent’ rating reflects the high standards, professionalism and compassion that the Etheldred House team demonstrates every day. Their unwavering focus on providing personalised care that promotes dignity, independence and wellbeing has created an environment where residents can truly thrive."
