Eleanor celebrated a century of life at Castlemead Court Care Home recently as she reached an impressive milestone – turning 100!
Eleanor has lived at Castlemead for only three years, but during this time, has made many friends and enjoyed being actively involved in the events and activities that regularly take place. She loves to join in with group sessions and socialise with others, but on her 100th birthday, it was all about her!
To honour this milestone moment and celebrate her long and happy life, the team decorated communal areas with banners, balloons, and decorations to make sure everyone knew about her birthday.
To start the celebrations, the team showed Eleanor the decorated room which raised a smile on her face. People both living and working at the home then came along to wish Eleanor a happy birthday and adorn her with flowers, cards, and other lovely gifts. Members of Eleanor’s family then came along to join in with the celebrations and spoil her some more!
Eleanor is a proud lady who lived in many different places throughout her life, but her favorite house was in Wales. She enjoys telling other people about her life and the memories she has, which was especially encouraged as she celebrated her 100th birthday. Reflecting on her life and her achievements made for wonderful listening and helped everyone to realise just how much she had done throughout her life.
To top off a wonderful day, a beautiful cake was served accompanied by a tuneful rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’.
We hope you had a wonderful day, Eleanor. Welcome to the 100 club!
