Sweyne Court Care Home in Rayleigh is officially in bloom with their beautiful array of flowers, thanks to their fantastic helpers.
The team at the home plant new flowers in their pots in the garden and by the entrance every year without fail. They always make sure to include as many people living at the home as possible, as this makes a great activity for keen gardeners.
This year, Eileen and Doreen were the biggest helpers, and got stuck in with the team. The pair were really focused as they planted Busy Lizzies in three matching pots by the entrance, excited to see them out and proud by the front door.
Eileen is very passionate about Sweyne Court’s flower displays and is always quick to remind the home’s Lifestyle Coordinator when the flowers need watering. Now that she has planted these three pots, she cares about making sure they get watered the most. So, each morning the team escort Eileen to the front of the home where she waters the Busy Lizzies herself.
While there, Eileen likes to reminisce and feel the texture of the flowers, as she says that it reminds her of home, where she used to maintain her own garden before she lost most of her sight. The flowers have become a big passion project for her, and the team look forward to helping her maintain them.
