Milestone birthdays are special occasions that mark significant moments in a person's life. At Excelcare, we believe it is important to celebrate these meaningful birthdays, giving the people living in our homes an opportunity to reflect on their cherished memories, achievements, and life experiences, while also creating new and lasting memories surrounded by their friends, families, and team members. 

Recently at Stanley Wilson Lodge, we were delighted to celebrate both John’s 88th birthday and Paul’s 90th birthday. John and Paul regularly attend the Men’s Club and enjoy sitting together at lunchtime, so it was wonderful that they could share such a memorable occasion alongside one another.

As Paul reached the incredible milestone of turning 90, he received a heartfelt royal letter from CEO Ozzie and COO Sam to mark the occasion. He was absolutely delighted, and there were even a few tears as he read his letter and reflected on this remarkable achievement.

The celebrations were made even more meaningful with the presence of Paul’s daughter, Gemma, and John’s daughter, Joanna. Having their loved ones by their side created precious memories that will be treasured for years to come. Joanna, a professional jazz musician, entertained everyone by playing the keyboard and singing, while John proudly joined her on bass guitar. Having previously been a full-time musician with the RAF Band, the experience brought back many fond memories for John and made the day particularly touching.

We hope John and Paul enjoyed every moment of their birthday celebrations. Occasions like these would not be possible without our wonderful Lifestyle Coordinators, whose creativity help bring these memorable events to life. From singing Happy Birthday together to enjoying delicious birthday cake, it was a truly joyous day at Stanley Wilson Lodge, with many more happy celebrations still to come.
