The people living and working at Sherrell House Care Home in Essex got their party hats on for a 60s and 70s fancy dress day!
The team at the home wanted to host a day like this to allow for reminiscence and give everyone living at the home a chance to look back on memories that they had during this time period. The day was filled with fun costumes and music, and complete with a 60s and 70s fancy dress party!
As usual, everyone went above and beyond to ensure that all participants had a wonderful time. The team made sure that every detail was as accurate as possible. Home Manager Jane Maxwell decided to bring the spirit of the 1970’s to the home by dressing up as an Abba band member! Everyone was so wowed by the costume and thought that they had a special visitor.
One of the home’s Lifestyle Coordinators got really creative and made a cheese and pineapple hedgehog for everyone to eat. This caused a lot of surprise among everyone at the home, and they thought that it made a great addition to the festivities!
The refreshments at the party were perfect for a hot summer’s day, consisting of fruit kebabs, grape “caterpillars”, soft drinks and cocktails. Everyone tucked into the great food whilst engaging in chatter and dancing along to the music.
The party was certainly a great hit, and the people living at the home can’t wait until the next one!
