At Park Avenue Care Home, a special collage project began in January 2025. Each month, photographs were taken during activities and memorable moments. Some of these photos were printed and placed onto A4 cards, gradually building a collection of memories throughout the year. By December, around 50 A4 pages had been created, each capturing different experiences shared in the home.
The home's Lifestyle Coordinator, Sukhy, then had the wonderful idea of joining all the pages together to create one long collage with the theme, “The best things in life are the people we love, the places we’ve been and the memories we’ve made along the way.” The final piece now stretches to around fifteen feet in length and beautifully showcases the creativity, activities, and joyful moments experienced in the home throughout the year.
This project followed on from the home’s 2024 activity, where people living in the home created a memory box. The box was decorated and filled with items they had made during the year, making it a meaningful collection of their creativity and memories. In 2025, the focus shifted to the collage project, capturing moments month by month through photographs.
Looking ahead to 2026, Sukhy said that the home is planning to create a memory album, possibly including pop-up pictures to make it even more interactive and engaging. They hope to display the collage somewhere in the home so that people living there, team members who work there, and visitors can enjoy and reflect on the wonderful memories they’ve created together.
