Recently at Winifred Dell Care Home in Essex, team members Clare and Jean were approached by the residents of Windsor who politely asked if they could play a game of Bingo or two, rather than their planned activity.
Clare and Jean could sense their enthusiasm, and so were happy to change activities for them. So, they quickly got to work, joyfully spreading the word, and gathering some prizes for Bingo.
The game ran from 11am to 12:30 and saw everyone competing to win items such as chocolate bars, crisps, biscuits and sweets. The game was tense, and everyone had their eyes on their cards as they quickly searched for all the numbers.
Clare and Jean tried to keep the number calling fun and interactive. When “Legs 11” was called, one person whistled, and when “22” was called there were quite a few quacks from the audience. They also made sure to take their time as they called them, so as not to rush anyone who was searching their cards.
Fun was had by all that took part in the game, and it’s safe to say that the prizes went down a treat! The sweet treats weren’t around long, and everyone tucked in quite quickly. The residents can’t wait for their next game of Bingo.
