Taylor Manning is the son of Excelcare’s Chief Operating Officer, Sam Manning. On Sunday 11th February, he followed in his mum’s footprints, as he began his first day in a role at Park Avenue Care Home in Bromley.
Taylor is currently studying a Media and Business course in Sixth Form. Although his future career plans are in a different industry, he has always been inspired by his mum’s passion, showing a keen interest in her work, and wanted to learn more about the company where she has worked for the last 30 years.
Whilst only a teenager herself, Sam joined Excelcare in 1993 as an Administrator at Castlebar Care Home. During that time, Sam did not know she would still be with the company 30 years later, leading the Excelcare family’s day-to-day operations. With three decades of commitment to the family, Taylor is getting a taste of his mum’s very first role within Excelcare, as he steps in to support the Park Avenue team and cover reception duties. This involves welcoming visitors, answering phone calls, taking enquiries, and helping the team with admin tasks.
Taylor enjoyed his first day at the home, getting to know more about how his mum’s career started and learning how Park Avenue Care Home operates day to day. Taylor’s grandad also lived in Park Avenue, and the team took great care of him, so having the opportunity to give back and support them meant a lot to him.
Taylor was a big help throughout his first day and supported the team with enthusiasm. His hard work was very much appreciated and the team and they are looking forward to seeing Taylor every Sunday, as he continues to support the home and gain valuable experience.
Well done for your hard work Taylor!
