Recently, the residents and families of Park Avenue enjoyed an amazing concert by the Bromley Youth Music Trust, which was held in the care home.
The Bromley Youth Music Trust is an independent music service nationally renowned for providing a very high quality comprehensive and inclusive instrumental and vocal music education to the young people of Bromley and surrounding areas. The people living and working at Park Avenue know just how important music can be to wellbeing and quality of life, so when Home Manager Charlotte received an email from them, she knew that she had to seize the opportunity.
The group visited the home on a wonderful Sunday to play a mix of classical and Christmas songs for their audience. The music echoed around the whole of the home’s Rose Suite, and everyone agreed that it was very relaxing and therapeutic. The children were so talented, and you could tell that they had honed their craft well.
The concert received great praise from the people living in the home and served as the perfect opportunity for the residents to experience classic live music. Gwen, one of the people living at Park Avenue said that the performance was “lovely and relaxing”, and Christopher immediately asked “when are they coming again?”
Since everyone enjoyed the concert so much, the Bromley Youth Music Trust said that they would be happy to come back in the summer for a classical performance in the garden! Park Avenue will certainly be taking them up on this and can’t wait to see them again next year.
