Former TOWIE star, Billie Shepherd has raised smiles across the Excelcare group as blossoming bouquets were delivered to each of our care homes with the help of floristry and event owner, Fatma of Cupid Creative.
Billie recently visited Winifred Dell Care Home in Brentwood to drop off a bouquet of flowers as she realised how challenging the last year has been, especially for people living and working in care. Billie also finds flowers to be comforting and thought by delivering some to her local care home, it may provide some comfort there too.
Whilst delivering the flowers, Billie found out that Excelcare was part of a family-run group made up of 32 care homes and so pledged to have flowers sent to them all!
With the help of cupid creative, these flowers began to arrive at care homes around the group last week and we received many wonderful pictures of team members and residents smiling with the flowers in their hands. Each bouquet came with a note written by Billie, which read, ‘Flowers grow out of dark moments, I truly hope these brighten your day during these unprecedented times.’
At Windmill Lodge Care Home in London, the flowers spread lots of smiles and cheer. “Thank you very much Billie for this act of kindness that you and your family have shown us today. We will not forget this gesture, and should memory start to fade, the picture of the flowers will be there as a memorial for us all to know that we are loved and appreciated by others that we might not have met," said Lifestyle Coordinator, Grace.
Meanwhile, at Queens Oak Care Home, the delivery brought back happy memories for a resident, who said the flowers smelt so beautiful and reminded her of when she used to distribute flowers to people in hospital in her spare time.
It’s safe to say Billie’s mission was achieved, as these bouquets certainly did brighten the day of teams and residents around the group.
We’d like to share a big thank you to Billie for this kind and thoughtful gesture and to Fatma of Cupid Creative for making all of this possible!
