The people living at Fitzwilliam House Care Home in Cambridge had a lovely time discussing which celebrities they’d want to have at a dinner party.
The conversation came about after they heard a radio station ask the question and decided to get involved for themselves. Soon after, they were all engaged in a lively discussion, suggesting different celebrities, and imagining what the dinners would be like.
Maureen said that she wanted to have dinner with Prince Harry because there has been so much gossip about him leaving the Royal Family and she would like to know the truth. Angela’s choice was David Attenborough because she loves watching his programs and listening to his voice.
Irene, Jean and Annette all opted for famous singers. Annette said that her choice would be Cliff Richard, not just because of his looks, but because of his wonderful voice as well. Irene said she’d want to have dinner with Michael Bublé, because he is her favourite singer and she would turn the dinner into a private concert where she could listen to him sing all day. Jean, on the other hand, dreamed of meeting Andre Rieu, because her husband was Austrian and used to play in the orchestra and sing with him.
When the team saw how much fun the residents were having with their choices, they decided to join in as well! Claire chose Elton John because she thinks he would be fun to talk to and very intelligent, whereas Charlotte chose Leonardo Di Caprio because he’s a great actor and incredibly beautiful. Gill opted for someone far more controversial, citing Donald Trump as her dinner guest of choice. She said that she doesn’t particularly like him, but she thinks that it would make for some interesting conversation. Amy chose the Queen, because she would like to have an insight into her everyday life.
It was a very interesting activity and prompted some long, engaging conversations for everyone involved.
