Over the Christmas season, the community around Fitzwilliam Care Home in Cambridge have been incredibly generous, and the home have received a huge number of caring gifts this year.
Recently, the team and people living at the home received a most pleasant surprise; another wonderful gesture from the Cottenham United Football Club’s first team.
Manager Chris Hancock and players Max Cato and Sam Lock delivered a hamper to the home a few weeks ago. The hamper was full of gifts for the Christmas raffle, as well as some goodies such as cake, biscuits, chocolates, crisps and drinks that could be used at the upcoming festive parties in the home. Among the gifts there was also a football and a Cottenham Town Football woolly hat.
When the people living at the home saw all of the gifts, they were overcome with happiness. This was not only because of the amazing things that they received, but also because the kind gesture was so lovely, and it was incredibly nice to be thought of in such a way.
The local community have been so kind this year and really added to the festive cheer at Fitzwilliam. The home would like to extend a sincere thank you to Cottenham United Football Club, and they hope that they can welcome them inside the home to thank them in person when visiting is once again permitted!
