Excelcare has unveiled its substantial investment in digital systems and innovative initiatives throughout the organisation.
Building upon the rebranding efforts undertaken in 2022, including a new logo, strapline, and colour scheme, Excelcare has now disclosed the financial commitment it has made towards enhancing its digital systems. Over the past year, Excelcare has invested £2.1 million in new systems that seamlessly document an individual's care throughout their journey, as they work in close partnership with the Excelcare team and their loved ones to plan their own meaningful days, each and every day.
The integration of these systems ensures effective communication channels, enabling the secure gathering, storage, and sharing of information across interconnected platforms. This comprehensive approach ensures that each person's individual needs are consistently tracked, and their care is planned accordingly. This aligns with Excelcare’s values and collective goal of prioritising both the needs and choices of every individual living in their homes - to ensure the needs of ‘Mr Bailey’ remains at the heart of every decision when it comes to his care plan. ‘Mr Bailey’ is a gentleman that represents each and every person who lives in an Excelcare home and helps to highlight the unique needs and preferences of each person as an individual with their own likes, dislikes and routines.
Excelcare has forged a partnership with Nourish, a leading Care Management System. Nourish provides a customisable and user-friendly software platform that places individuals at the centre of their care circle. By centralising information onto one easily accessible profile, Nourish facilitates faster decision-making and ensures person-centred care remains at the forefront. Furthermore, Nourish offers valuable insights for monitoring, analysing, and enhancing care practices.
As part of the investment, Excelcare has also implemented Radar Healthcare, an all-in-one risk and compliance software that stores up-to-date company policies. The utilisation of Radar brings numerous benefits, including the consolidation of audits and their outcomes, enabling future internal inspections to be compared against previous results. Excelcare's adoption of Radar guarantees the maintenance of excellent care standards, providing each person with an unparalleled life experience.
Another notable addition to Excelcare's portfolio is ATLAS eMAR, an electronic medication record system that enhances resident safety and improves care home efficiency. ATLAS eMAR ensures effective management, accurate delivery, and comprehensive logging of medications - essential data that can be shared with healthcare partners such as the NHS. ATLAS eMAR also facilitates digital integration between care homes, GP surgeries, and pharmacy dispensaries, simplifying access to medication-related information.
Excelcare has not only introduced systems to support the people living in their care homes, but has also implemented new wellbeing initiatives. A partnership with Terryberry will streamline employee recognition and awards programs while offering a range of benefits, wellbeing initiatives, and discounts to team members.
Other noteworthy innovations include the development of internal intranet hubs hosted on SharePoint that provide colleagues with valuable information and facilitate seamless communication through a user-friendly platform. Furthermore, digital financial systems have been reviewed and optimised, with the implementation of Cloud Financials, AccessPay, and Coldharbour, enhancing the effective management of financial operations.
"Our recent investment in system upgrades and innovation across the group is a significant milestone, enabling us to leverage advanced technology and improve outcomes for the people who live and work in our care homes. While it is easy to focus on investment figures, our primary motivation is to ensure that ‘Mr Bailey’ remains at the heart of everything we do, and that our incredible team also feel valued for the outstanding outcomes they arrange for Mr Bailey and his friends. Every decision made as part of this comprehensive overhaul has been driven by a commitment to individuals and how these systems will enhance their lives while empowering our teams in delivering exceptional care. This is an incredibly exciting time for our Excelcare family, and we eagerly anticipate witnessing the transformative impact of these systems, working in harmony to ensure that each person who lives and works in an Excelcare home truly feels a sense of belonging," said Sam Manning, Chief Operating Officer of Excelcare.
