Award-winning care provider, Excelcare which operates 31 care homes across London and the south-east has announced a new organisational structure this week to ensure the individuals they care for remain at the heart of everything they do. Excelcare’s new structure reflects its family values, and the company’s promise to residents and their loved ones.
Trusted by over 2,500 families, Excelcare has been rated as the number one ranked care provider for older people including dementia care on Care Quality Commission (CQC) ratings by Care Markets UK. In 2023, for the fourth year running, the group also received a Carehome.co.uk award after being identified within the top 20 large care providers in the UK.
The Excelcare family’s personalised approach to care stems from a visit the senior management team made to one of their care homes a number of years ago. During this visit, they met an inspirational gentleman named Mr Bailey. They had a conversation together, in which Mr Bailey shared his likes, interests and the things that truly put a smile on his face. This conversation inspired positive changes to the focus of their internal audits, from assessing results individually, to a more integrated approach, with a new focus on the individual and how each team member working in the home comes together to ensure the life of people living in the home is as fulfilling and enriching as possible. This transformed the vision for Excelcare and is one of the reasons they are a leading provider in the care sector today.
In 2022, the family care provider underwent a rebrand, taking elements from their old branding and evolving it, alongside the company colour scheme, to align with their new strapline ‘Belong with us’. As part of this rebrand, internal changes have recently taken place, including a refreshed family structure to ensure Mr Bailey and every individual they care for, remains to be the core focus for every team within the company. These changes will ensure Care Home, Regional and Central Support Office teams work in collaboration to ensure residents receive the very best that life can offer.
The Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care in England, is changing the way in which they inspect and rate care homes. The changes to Excelcare’s family structure incorporate a focus on partnership working with Integrated Care Boards, including all Local Authority and Health partners. The structure demonstrates how Excelcare’s dynamic, responsive services can evidence effective outcomes for the people who live in their care homes - demonstrating clarity of delivery of each of the Quality Statements and what they mean to the people who live and work in an Excelcare home.
Like all well-led organisations, Excelcare has made changes in its personnel to support the changing landscape of care home leadership and regulation. These changes bring some internal promotions, with Sadie Munro being promoted into the role of Director of Sales, Marketing, Engagement & Wellbeing, as well as some other title changes within the family such as job titles across the group being updated to reflect the group’s family values and adapt to these recent changes from the Care Quality Commission.
“I am so proud to be part of a company that feels like home,” shared Sadie, “and after experiencing the Excelcare’s family values during my 6 years here, it’s wonderful to see how this feeling is being represented as part of our structure.”
The new organisational structure can be visualised via the graphic below, which shows how members of the Excelcare family work together to ensure the company values are adhered to, whilst ensuring Mr Bailey remains at the centre of everyone’s focus.
Sam Manning, Chief Operating Office at Excelcare said, “We are proud to announce our new organisational structure at an exciting time for Excelcare. Internal developments and innovations, such as our recent rebrand, has helped to build on the solid foundations we have established, with a clear vision to ensure our interaction with Mr Bailey represents the individual needs of each and every person who lives in an Excelcare home.
“This new structure will ensure we continue working as a family to deliver the best care to each and every person that live in our homes, whilst encouraging a collaborative and supportive approach to everything we do.”
