The people living at Peartree Care Home have found a way to stay active, whilst putting their general knowledge to the test with the help of Vitality Inspirational Entertainment (VIE).
VIE is a family-run business that pairs chair-based exercises with popular trivia questions, so their sessions are not only beneficial to a person’s health and fitness but their wellbeing too!
Chair-based exercise sessions are popular in care homes as they encourage people to stay active through a variety of stretches and movements. These sessions are also accessible for most, as all of the exercises can be done from the comfort of a chair.
VIE doesn’t exclusively pair their chair-based exercises with quizzes, but also games and sing-alongs, so participants are engaged both physically and cognitively. This combination of exercise and enjoyment provides multisensory stimulation that residents respond positively to, and they’re always excited to take part in sessions hosted by VIE.
During the most recent session, residents were shown a range of chair-based movements to copy, whilst the team read out general knowledge questions. People were encouraged to shout out the answers to the questions, with a prize for the person who got the most answers correct.
Everyone had a smile on their face throughout the session and they all enjoyed the combination of exercising and answering quiz questions.
VIE is always popular with the residents of Peartree and they’re very grateful for the enjoyable and beneficial sessions the team delivers.
