The people living at Winifred Dell Care Home in Brentwood recently celebrated the life of their late friend, Doreen with the team and some of her close family members.
Doreen was a popular resident at Winifred Dell who played an active part in life at the home, regularly getting involved with the the activities and events they hosted. Her unfortunate passing was a huge loss to the care home, so the people living and working at Winifred Dell wanted to take some time to celebrate the life of their friend.
As residents of Winifred Dell weren’t able to attend Doreen’s funeral, her family asked people not to bring flowers, but instead, to donate some money to go towards a memorial event at Winifred Dell. This money would help to pay for an entertainer to attend and make the event a positive celebration of her life and achievements.
Paul Little, a popular entertainer was invited to perform at Winifred Dell for Doreen’s celebration of life party, which was complete with cream teas, sweets and savoury snacks. Doreen’s family came along to join in with the event and celebrate the life of their loved one with her friends.
This event gave the people living and working at Winifred Dell the chance to remember the life of a beloved friend, where they shared some of the memories they had with Doreen and how much they miss her.
Paul’s music was well enjoyed by the residents, and everyone was grateful they had the opportunity to celebrate Doreen’s life and send their farewell wishes. This was also heartwarming for Doreen’s family, as it gave them a positive memory with Doreen's friends that they can cherish forever.
