Alexandra was born on the 30th July, 1953 at a quaint country hospital in Paulton, Somerset.
She lived with her parents, Erika and Michael, and her younger sister, Annette. Alexandra’s mother was a nurse and her father worked as a miner, so she had grown up with two parents who had a strong work ethic.
This clearly had a positive impact on Alexandra, as during her younger years, as well as being fun and lively, she had a natural academic talent. This led her to do very well at school, and she went on to attend a Grammar School in the small village of Midsomer Norton.
Alexandra excelled in most subjects at school, but she had a particular interest in Archaeology and Astronomy.
Alexandra’s success in school led her to choose a career in teaching. As a natural academic, Alexandra took to her training very well and before long, was a qualified Primary School teacher! As well as delivering the curriculum, she also enjoyed putting on plays and hosting musical entertainment for her pupils.
One of Alexandra’s favourite hobbies was travelling. She enjoyed exploring European countries and learning their cultures, but also travelled around Morrocco and spent lots of time visiting her Auntie Ruth in Florida. Alexandra was also a keen photographer and would always be on the lookout for beautiful landscapes to capture pictures of.
At the age of 40, Alexandra decided to change careers and go back to university. She attended Goldsmith’s University and enrolled in a Business and Marketing course.
After securing her degree, Alexandra joined a large water company working in their Sales and Marketing Department. This was completely different to her previous teaching career, but she enjoyed putting her new skills into practice before retiring 10 years later at the age of 50.
Now living at Peartree Care Home in Sydenham, Alexandra still enjoys exploring, especially the green spaces local to where she lives. Her interest in technology and photography is still with her and she enjoys spending time on her phone and computer. Alexandra is still in touch with some of her old friends too, including a lady she met during her teaching years who regularly comes to visit.
