Cheryl has been entertaining the people living at Winifred Dell Care Home in Brentwood for the last two years.
As all of her previous performances were booked during the coronavirus lockdown, they were delivered virtually via video calling apps. Despite not being in the room, her performances always raised smiles at Winifred Dell and the songs she played from the 50s and 70s got everyone moving and brought back lots of memories.
Due to the success of these sessions, Cheryl was recently welcomed to Winifred Dell to host her first in-person performance, now that the restrictions have eased.
Residents thoroughly enjoy live musical performances, much more than sessions delivered via zoom, as the experience of live music simply cannot be matched. Everyone was really excited to hear Cheryl was coming to their home and they couldn’t wait to meet her.
Cheryl started by introducing herself and took the time to chat with people and learn their names. She then started her sing-along session and began playing songs from the 1950s. As she performed popular songs from the past, she encouraged people to dance and sing along. She even invited some of the people in the room to get up on their feet and dance with her.
Everyone had a smile on their face throughout Cheryl’s performance and said they enjoyed the variety of music that she played. Residents agreed that it was nice to meet Cheryl in person and experience her musical talent, live.
Cheryl will be returning to Winifred Dell during the Queen’s Jubilee to perform during their platinum celebration party.
