Windmill Lodge keep active with BlueCare Wellbeing
Recently, the people living at Windmill Lodge Care Home enjoyed an exercise therapy session led by Mark from BlueCare Wellbeing. The group enjoyed trying out a variety of seated versions of different sports.
For older people, keeping active comes with many health benefits. Having access to regular exercise is an important part of daily life, so at Excelcare, we ensure this is included amongst the many daily activities we have to offer.
Mark hosted the session with a lot of enthusiasm and a touch of comedy – making everyone laugh as he ran around catching the soft balls that residents were throwing to him from different sides of the room.
Jonathan, who lives at Windmill Lodge, threw the football back with a lot of force, much to the surprise of Mark, and to the amusement of the rest of the group! Next, they moved onto netball - when Mark leaned the net close to Cathy, she playfully sang, “It feels like you’re cheating!”
The people living at Windmill Lodge thoroughly enjoyed the session and look forward to more exercise groups with Mark in the future.
