The team at Water Hall Care Home in Bletchley has been celebrating after receiving the news that they have sustained excellent practice in their recent accreditation with the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) to achieve a ‘Platinum Status’ award.
The GSF is a practical systematic, evidence-based approach to optimizing care for all people nearing the end of life, given by front-line care providers. GSF is accredited following in-depth monitoring to ensure team members continue to deliver high-quality care, training and quality assurance to the people they support
In order to achieve a ‘Platinum Status’, the team must first achieve beacon status, which involves passing the initial course, then after sustained accreditations, achieve gold status before reaching the coveted platinum status. This national award recognises the commitment and quality of care they provide to people nearing the end of their life.
The team at Water Hall Care Home are delighted about this recent achievement, which showcases their continued dedication to providing quality, dignified palliative and end of life care.
Tendai, the Home Manager at Water Hall Care Home said this in response to the achievement, “I am truly humbled to be working with our fantastic team at Water Hall. The team works in partnership with the people living here and their families in their journey at Water Hall. It feels great to achieve this prestigious award and be recognised for the good work that we routinely do at Water Hall.”
Julie Armstrong-Wilson, Lead Nurse for GSF said: “Congratulations to all organisations that have successfully achieved accreditation and reaccreditation. The last year has been an incredibly difficult time for all health and social care providers and taking the time to complete their GSF accreditation is to be commended. Good quality end of life care has never been more important, especially due to the impact of the pandemic we have all faced. Witnessing so many centres signing up to learn more and gain GSF accreditation so they too can support people at the end of life is fantastic to see.”
Well done to the team at Water Hall for working so hard to achieve this nationally recognised award!
